NWC threatens action
AS OF next week, people caught watering lawns, washing cars or doing any other activity that constitutes a waste of water could find themselves hauled before the courts where they could be fined or locked up.

Doctor arrested
A 40-YEAR-OLD doctor has been arrested and charged with performing an abortion on a 14-year-old and has been granted $200,000 bail. Dr. Eden Godfrey of Hopewell, Hanover, was charged with committing an illegal abortion and conspiracy to commit abortion.

Consensus on controversial Weapons Bill

AFTER A long and heated debate on Thursday, members of the Joint Select Committee of Parliament examining the proposed Offensive Weapons (Prohibition) Act hammered out a consensus on the controversial Bill.

More dynamite found in prison
POLICE ON Thursday morning found another stick of dynamite on the compound of the St. Catherine Adult Correctional centre, Spanish Town. The dynamite was concealed in a crack in the perimeter wall.

Better water supply for Porus
PORUS, Manchester: ACTING DISTRICT Operational Supervisor at the National Water Commission (NWC) in Man-chester, Courtney James, has assured residents of Porus and surrounding areas that a more efficient water supply system will be implemented soon.
