Netball Australia has confirmed a three-match series against Caribbean powerhouse Jamaica in August 2010 as warm-up for the Commonwealth Games in India next October.
Netball Australia, the governing body for the sport here, said on its website Thursday that they will be "putting the final touches on their Commonwealth Games preparations" with matches against the Jamaicans on August 8, 11 and 15.
Jamaica's Sunshine Girls, ranked fourth in the world, are in the same pool as World No.1 Australia Diamonds for the Commonwealth Games in Delhi.
Australia's coach Norma Plummer proclaimed respect for the Jamaicans and their towering ace shooter Romelda Aiken, after the Caribbean side registered wins over the world's top two teams - Australia and New Zealand - this year.
Real threat
"Naturally, Jamaica is a real threat after beating New Zealand and the Diamonds in 2009," Plummer explained.
The Test matches between Australia and Jamaica are booked for Melbourne (August 8), Sydney (August 11) and the Gold Coast (August 15).
The Jamaicans will tackle New Zealand's Silver Ferns in a two-match series later in August.
