Tivoli Gardens 'A' will be seeking their second consecutive victory in the Jamaica Netball Association (JNA)/Jamaica National Building Society (JNBS) Open League competition, when they oppose Jetsetters 'B' in today's feature game at the Leila Robinson Courts, starting at 5:20 p.m.

At the same time, there will be three other games: Skibo 'B' vs Molynes United 'A', Hellshire vs Waulgrovians 'B'; and G.C. Foster College 'A' vs Police 'A'.

Tivoli have boosted their squad this season with the acquisition of former national representatives Oberon Pitterson, Marvette Murray and Sharmalee Watkins from Waulgrovians.

Search for right combination

The west Kingston-based team demolished the Jamaica Defence Force 53-4 in their opening game Wednesday at the same venue.

"We are still trying to find our right combination for this season because we have added some new players to our squad and I want to make sure that everyone understands their role in this team," said Sylvester Campbell, coach of the Tivoli Gardens.

Campbell added he is expecting a tough game from his opponents, whom he described as a "hard-running team".

As such, he said: "We are not going to underestimate our opponents because this is the Open League and anything can happen."

Meanwhile, C. Lloyd Walker, coach of Jetsetters 'B', said his team's preparation has been hampered because of the transfer of a number of their senior players, but he is still expecting a good showing.

"We are now in a rebuilding phase because we have lost number of our senior players to tertiary institutions, who are now playing in the league, but I am still hoping for a good showing from the team," said Walker.

"This is the Open League and anything can happen, and so our girls are prepared to work hard to gain as much experience from the competition," noted Walker, whose team was defeated 20-45 by Greenwich Town in their opening game on Wednesday.
