Argument without substance

The Editor, Sir:

In regard to the sentiments of Gary Allen as Media Association Jamaica Ltd head, saying Golding should not have met artistes over Gully-Gaza issue, his argument has no substance.

There are things called radio mix which makes music fit for radio play and CD mix for free-will citizens who have the freedom to listen to what they feel like listening to. What Allen should focus on is how minors are being exposed to the music that has not been edited for radio play - for example under-aged children in clubs and dances.

The focus should be on going through these events and having minors removed from the premises; holding club owners and promoters responsible for under-aged children being in their venues. For Allen to attack Spice because of her lyrics is ludicrous. Spice is an adult living in a democratic society. Why should she face censorship?

I am, etc.,
