Labels on jacket sleeves are a NO-NO!

  • Mr Dapper

    Q. Is it right for men to leave the label on the outside of their jackets?

    A. Absolutely not! The label on the sleeve of the suit jacket is meant to be removed. A handkerchief in the jacket pocket is an elegant touch.

  • Wedding bells

    Q. I am getting married, and I am not sure where to put the corsages and boutonnières.

    A. Congratulations! Generally, corsages and boutonnières are meant for the wedding party, including the mother and father of the bride and groom. The corsages are worn just below the left shoulder, if the woman prefers, she can also wear it on her left wrist. The boutonnières are worn on the left lapel of the jacket.

  • Merry Christmas

    Q. I am invited to Christmas dinner at my friend's parents' house; I have never met them before, should I take a gift?

    A. Yes, you should take a small gift for your hostess. Present it to her upon your arrival. Candles, flowers, a bottle of wine or a box of chocolates are all good choices. Do have a wonderful Christmas.
