Singapore style: curb delinquency
Published: Wednesday | December 2, 2009
THE EDITOR, Sir:
IT'S A welcome sign of enlightenment and national self-criticism to see your editorial yesterday comparing our economic stagnation with Singapore's progress. But don't stop there now.
Singapore got where it is, in part, by naming and shaming its delinquent citizens into acceptable behaviour. So set an example. Let's see names and faces of our many delinquent taxpayers on your front page, Singapore style. A few years of that and we'd have no need for IMF loans. Remember, Jamaica is not poor, only its government is.
I am, etc.,
