Defending champions St George's College, Excelsior, St Andrew Technical (STATHS) have secured semi-final spots in the Pepsi/Digicel Manning Cup football competition.

St George's College came from behind to earn a 2-2 draw with Calabar who were well-placed at one stage to take the Group One honours.

Akeem Barrett (12th minute) and Chevonne Marsh (88) scored for Calabar while Marvin Morgan (31st) and Carl Reid (89th) netted for St George's College.

In the group's other game, played at Winchester Park, Jamaica College (JC), winners of the Walker Cup, were sent packing, going down 3-2 to Wolmer's.

St George's ended on five points, one more than Calabar and JC with four each and Wolmer's (three).

At Constant Spring, Diego Haughton saved the day for STATHS, who defeated Kingston College (KC) 1-0 to advance as the best overall second-place team.

Jermaine Reid scored the all-important goal for STATHS, whose goalkeeper Haughton saved a 73rd-minute penalty.

Elsewhere in Group Three, Excelsior went on a goal spree, beating Tivoli 7-0 to top the group ahead of STATHS on goal difference.

Both Excelsior and STATHS ended on seven points, but the former have a superior goal difference.

In tomorrow's final set of matches, Waterford, on six points, face Bridgeport (three points) while Eltham, also on three points, take on Norman Manley. All but the latter are still in with a chance of advancing.
