BRISBANE, Australia (CMC):For West Indies batsman Brendan Nash, touching down here Friday evening (Thursday Caribbean time) was like returning home.

"It's very good to be back here in Australia. As everyone knows, this is where I was born and where I grew up so I have a lot of friends and family here," said Nash, who was born here but relocated to Jamaica two years ago.

"I'm really looking forward to the series and so is everyone else in the team. This is a great opportunity for me to continue the good start to my Test career and also for the team to perform well and do well in foreign conditions."

The 31-year-old arrived here with the West Indies team for the start of their three-Test tour against Australia, after a 30-hour trek from the Caribbean.

Nash made his Test debut for West Indies against New Zealand in Dunedin in 2008 and has played nine Tests, averaging 38.

An unflappable left-hander with a penchant for the off-side, Nash is expected to play a key role in the Windies quest to win their first Test series against the World champions in 15 years.

"A lot of eyes will be on me but that's all part of international sport. I'm not feeling any added pressure, I will just continue to do what has worked for me, play to my strengths and be patient," Nash noted.
