Closure of British High Commission

Published: Wednesday | November 11, 2009

The British High Commission in New Kingston is advising the public that it will be closed tomorrow. The closure might result in minor visa-processing delays.

As a result, the high commission said applicants should make allowances for the additional time it may take to process applications.

"Please note that the WorldBridge Service, which accepts visa applications to the United Kingdom, will be opened for usual business," the high commission stated in a release yesterday.

"British nationals with genuine and extremely urgent matters may contact the British High Commission at 510-0700 for the duty officer," the release stated.

"If you require further information, please visit our website at www.visainfoservices.com or www.ukinjamaica.fco.gov.uk."
