SCOTT'S HALL, St Mary:

RESIDENTS OF Scott's Hall, southeast St Mary, are now benefiting from an upgraded water-supply system.

The system was handed over last Friday by the Jamaica Social Investment Fund (JSIF), which was the lead agency on the project which cost just under $23 million.

JSIF contributed $18 million of the money, with the community providing the rest.

The upgrading of the water-supply system included the relaying of a 50 millimetre diameter PVC distribution main, the connection of the incoming supply line and electro-mechanical works for the testing and commissioning of the water-supply system.

In handing over the supply, Donovan Samuels, board member of JSIF, congratulated the residents for the part they played in getting the system operational.

He also reminded the community members of the importance of their water supply, and urged them to contribute to the protection and preservation of the infrastructure.
