UWI hosts 18th annual child health conference

The Faculty of Medical Sciences, UWI, Mona will host its 18th Annual Research Day and Sir Kenneth Standard Lecture from November 11 to 13. This year's Sir Kenneth Standard Distinguished Lecture will be given by Dr Alan A. Jackson, professor of human nutrition, University of South Hampton, Southampton General Hospital, United Kingdom.

The lecture, titled, 'Navigating the Transition: Child to Adult: Quantity and Quality, will take place on November 12 at Mona Visitors' Lodge and Conference Centre beginning at 5.30 p.m.

The Faculty Research Day comprising presentations from departments within the faculty will take place on November 12.

This will be followed by a workshop on 'The First Two Years; Behavioural, Mental and Emotional Issues; Sexual Issues and Abortion, Law and Practice'. The Research Day and Workshop will take place at the Main Medical Lecture Theatre, University Hospital of the West Indies.
