Blackburn ... scored double on Arnett. - File

Harbour View's coach, Donovan Hayles, says he will be concentrating on improving his strike force's efficiency in front of goal in the second round of the Digicel Premier League.

Habour View defeated Arnett Gardens 2-0 in their final match of the first round, at the Anthony Spaulding Sport Complex on Wednesday evening. Marcelino Blackburn scored both goals for Harbour View in the 66th and 87th minutes, to bring his tally to four in just two games following his return from a five-match suspension.

"The finishing is what we will be working on as we will be looking to push in the second round," Hayles said.

"We haven't done well at home and we have dropped a lot of points from draws," he added.

Harbour View ended the round on 22 points in third position, two behind leaders Tivoli Gardens (24) and second-place St Georges Sports Club (24).

Tivoli and St Georges will contest the first End of Round final on Sunday at the National Stadium, at 7p.m.

Hayles is, however, not overly disappointed on missing out on the finals, as he believes the End of Round final sometimes does more harm than good.

"To be honest it is a little bit disappointing but if you look at the records we have been to the End of Round final for the last seven years or more," Hayles said.

"It is a cup to win but the End of Round final sometimes put you under more pressure, it does more harm to me than good sometimes," he added.

Team organisation

Hayles will now shift his attention to the remainder of the premier league season and the next End of Round final.

"I am concentrating on the premier league, there is a next End of Round finals to aim for. We will shoot for that because it will be good for the spectators but more important for me is the premier league," Hayles said.

Meanwhile, Arnett Gardens' player/coach, Fabian Davis, intends to use the break to properly organise his team.

"We just have to use this break and organise ourselves properly and have a better second round than the first round," Davis said.

"We had a poor start to the first round but we still managed to finish in the top six," he added.
