Geoffrey Maxwell blamed his Waterhouse players for not taking all three points against Portmore United in a 1-1 stalemate, after their Digicel Premier League match at the Ferdie Neita Park on Sunday.
"I am very disappointed. Quite frankly, we should have been at least three goals up by half-time, we had the game to win. We were leading and I thought that we didn't apply ourselves in terms of wanting the game, but overall, you suppose you have to be happy with the point," Maxwell said of his team's performance.
He added: "But I am disappointed with the performance of a number of players on our team."
Waterhouse took the lead through their burly striker, Jermaine Anderson, who kicked on the volley past Dwayne Kerr in goal for Portmore United in the 33rd minute.
However, Portmore captain Anthony Modeste equalised 10 minutes later, when he scored on the rebound after missing directly from the penalty spot.
Disjointed play
Linval Dixon, the coach of Portmore United, thought his team's disjointed play impacted their ability to win.
"For the most part we played in patches. But we had some difficulties we need to work on, our passing game wasn't fluent today. We had a lot of turnovers, but we always believe that we can always get better," he said.
"When we practise and try to perfect the things, we need to keep possession of the ball because when we have the ball we have a good chance of scoring.
"When we share the ball like we did today the game will end 0-0 or 1-1."
Portmore's captain Anthony Modeste, a Grenadian international, said he would prefer if his team was nearer the leaders at this point.
"We would like to be higher up in the table at this point, but unfortunately we aren't but that's the way football goes. We are still positive, this is an extremely long season so we have to take it one game at a time and build on where we want to reach."
The draw saw Waterhouse move to seven points from eight games, while Portmore United inched to 13 points, also from eight games.
