CIRCLE DROME, running at odds of 9-1 with Shane Ellis aboard, wins the sixth race over 1200 metres at Caymanas Park last Saturday, and will seek to repeat in tomorrow's sixth race over 1400 metres with Paul Francis aboard. - Colin Hamilton/Freelance Photographer
The Pick-9 proved elusive at Caymanas Park last Saturday, but still offers the minimum $1 million at Caymanas Park tomorrow.
The Super-6, meanwhile, was caught by 10 punters, each receiving $180,504.80. It starts anew with the guaranteed minimum of $750,000. The Pick-9 will embrace races three to 11; the Super-6 from six to 11.
We look at the Super-6 which gets under way with a $550,000-$500,000 special claiming race over 1400 metres to be contested by nine starters, including CIRCLE DROME and FOREVER MINE, first and second, respectively, in a 1200-metre race last Saturday.
The grey CIRCLE DROME was such a convincing winner of that race that, although stepping up in class, must have a grand chance of repeating with title-chasing jockey Paul 'Country' Francis now taking the ride.
FOREVER MINE, who was apprentice-ridden last Saturday, should benefit from the stronger handling of champion jockey Omar Walker (fresh from a two-day suspension) and will prove dangerous, despite a change of stables (claimed), while the Vin Edwards-trained WILD GLITZ ran well enough last time out to be conceded a winning chance.
CITY TRAIN (Francis up), having failed by a short head to catch FLYING MARGARETT over 1100 metres last time out, should go one better in the seventh (for two-year-olds), as she apparently has less to beat.
Briefly, THE GUV (working well) gets the nod over REGGAE PRINCESS in the eighth over the straight course, while TESSANNE under female apprentice Georgina Sergeon, the much-improved WORKING IMAGE and RICKAYBA should provide answers for the last three races.
