IN a game where scoring chances were produced in abundance, Wolmer's Boys blanked Papine 3-0 in the ISSA/Pepsi/Digicel Manning Cup contest at Papine playing field yesterday.

Wolmer's first goal belatedly came in the 25th minute when Claude Allen took a shot that the 'keeper should have had covered but dived over the ball. They only took seven minutes to score their second when Christopher Waugh pounced on a failed clearance by the Papine defence to smash the ball into the net.

Much more competitive team

Papine came out for the second half a much more competitive team and had a glorious opportunity to open their account when Kevaune Reid broke away one-on-one with the 'keeper, who made a brilliant save.

In the 90th minute, Desmond Campbell, who had a brilliant game and should have scored earlier, completed the scoring.

"I just broke in the box and Chris (Christopher Waugh) found me and I placed it to the opposite side of the 'keeper. My main aim is to make the All-Manning team and working together with my team we can win the Manning Cup and Oliver Shield, and I would like to get a national call-up as well," a delighted Desmond Campbell said.
