Sweet-things, it was one fabulous week and then some, as from picturesque Port Antonio to très chic and the oh-so-trendy Negril, it was nothing but fabulous parties along the way. The celebrations ran the gamut from the privately exclusive shindigs, themed celebrations, to the absolutely carefree anniversaries and commemorations. It all made for a simply marvellous weekend of fine parties and nothing but!

Dears, there was the fab do hosted by the Chilean ambassador and his wife at their official residence last Friday evening. Then came the weekend smasheroni hosted by George Myers in Port Antonio, who jetted in from his Bahamian domicile. Also, the charming dinner hosted by Captain Michael and Thalia Lyn at their charming Old Stony Hill residence on Saturday evening. And the homecoming celebrations hosted in honour of international track superstar Usain Bolt; and the 10th anniversary celebration to mark the first decade of the establishment of one of the Caribbean's leading resorts - Hedonism III in St Ann. Pumpkins, the weekend was a social scorcher and nothing but!

Doing the rounds

My daahlings, it was all that and then some, as the new Canadian High Commissioner His Excellency Stephen Hallihan and his wife Cathy did the rounds, as they made a number of appearances and social engagements in unofficial get-acquainted outings.

And on the diplomatic circuit, the Hallihans were not the only ones making the social rounds, the new Cuban Ambassador, His Excellency Yuri Ariel Gala Lopez, was out and about, meeting his diplomatic colleagues and leading pillars of the society, not to mention government officials, as he, too, familiarised himself with the lay of the land.

Then happy anniversary to John Windle and wife Cherise Francis-Windle, who celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary on Thursday, September 17.

The couple, who reside in Encino, California, tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony aboard the historical yacht, the MY Zein, at the elegant Grand Lido Negril Resort, Jamaica, in an intimate ceremony restricted to immediate family and very close friends, with the reception following on board the luxury yacht, before setting off on an extended honeymoon that took them to London, New York, Capri and the French Riviera before returning to their home in California.

For their 10th anniversary, they will fly over to London this weekend, with a stopover in New York, for a three-week vacation with their daughter Victoria Olive Windle.

Mon congrats, and then some!
