Defending champions St George's College recorded their first victory in this year's urban area ISSA/Pepsi/Digicel Manning schoolboy football competition with a 3-0 win over Ascot in their Group F encounter at Winchester Park yesterday.

McKaully Tulloch (34th), substitute Davion Kelly (80th) and Deshawn Forbes (89th) were the goalscorers for the Neville 'Bertis' Bell coached-team, which was held to 1-1 draw by Eltham in its opening game last Saturday at Jarrett Park.

"I thought we played very well," said Bell. "I think that we were also very patient and I knew the goals would come, and they did," Bell said.

Everald Campbell, Ascot's coach, said: "I think it was a very tough loss for us, but I think the match came down to experience and the George's players were more experienced than us."

In the day's other games in Group B, Maurice Markland scored a brace to guide St Jago to a 3-1 victory over former champions Kingston College (KC) at North Street. Cruz Franson was the other goalscorer for St Jago. Prince Samuels scored the consolation goal for KC. In the group's other games, Norman Manley stopped Jose Marti 2-1 and Innswood got by Haile Selassie 2-0.

In Group C, Calabar beat Tarrant 3-1, Excelsior thrashed Cumberland 5-0, and Trench Town edged Spanish Town 1-0.
