The Spanish-Jamaican Foundation, which was created as a non-profit organisation of goodwill, intends to deepen the friendship between the people of Spain and Jamaica by undergoing a restructuring of its management position.

The restructuring has been undertaken through the appointment of Betty Valiante McKenzie and Avalon Arscott, who will occupy the posts of general manager and project officer, respectively.

McKenzie is replacing outgoing general manager, Beatriz Pozueta, while Arscott will be replacing outgoing project manager, Katrine Smith.

Pozueta and Smith have both been credited with establishing the foundation.

"They have served limitlessly and efficiently through their time with the foundation," Spanish Ambassador Jesus Silva, president of the foundation, said.

The primary aims and objectives of the foundation include the promotion of cultural, educational and other exchanges and collaborations between Spain and Jamaica.
