Stay with Best Man

Gary Subratie ... trains SHANGHAI PASS.
Both the Pick-9 and Super-6 start anew at Caymanas Park tomorrow after failing to survive the midweek meet.
The Pick-9 will embrace races two to 10 and offers the guaranteed minimum of $1 million, while the Super-6 will be conducted from race five to 10 with a guaranteed minimum of $750,000.
We look at the Super-6 which gets under way with a maiden condition race for four-year-olds and up over 1400 metres. Nine starters have been declared, including the likely favourite FAREED, who should easily win this on the strength of his good third to FREEDOM PRINCE over the distance on July 18.
Next on the programme is a 1200-metre race for conditional $180,000 claimers, and here it could prove dicey for punters owing to the unimpressive form of the runners.
Still, the winner will more than likely come from the quartet of CHARLIE CHAPLIN, AMERICAN DON, CONCORDE and SONG BOOK. My idea of the winner is CHARLIE CHAPLIN, who has beaten better in the not-too-distant past and will find the trip ideal.
Significantly, the four-year-old colt notched his last win over this trip back in April and only needs a clean break to beat AMERICAN DON under new apprentice Ainsley Dancel.
Consistent
ETERNAL STAR, the mount of in-form Brian Harding, should win the seventh race over 1700 metres ahead of CHINA CROSS (working well) and MR JIM CEE. The three-year-old gelding from the stables of Gary Subratie could only manage eighth to YOJIMBO over 1500 metres last Saturday, but should welcome this milder pace, and with the blinkers now fitted gets the nod over CHINA CROSSING.
Back to form hat-trick seeker THE BEST MAN gets the nod over DIESEL in the eighth race over the straight five course, while it should be the consistent American colt SHANGHAI PASS ahead of the American filly WAP in the ninth race over 1700 metres for open allowance horses.
SHANGHAI PASS chased the fleet-footed filly SAINT CECECLIA in quick spilts over 1300 metres in the fast-run Seek Exercise Book Trophy race last Saturday to finish three and a half lenghts fourth.
Given the milder pace of this race, the Gary Subratie-trained colt should make no mistake.
Then close the programme with RAJPUT (knocking at the door) in the Reca Trophy (Track Price Plus Dig-Out Handicap) over 1400 metres.SUPER-6 FANCIES
