Teachers, Gov't to meet next Tuesday

The dispute over the timeline set for the payment of the final tranche of money owed to teachers in public schools has been referred to the Ministry of Labour and Social Security.

Yesterday, the Ministry of Finance and the Public Service turned the matter over to the labour ministry after failed attempts at reaching an agreement with the JTA.

A meeting has been arranged for the disputing parties at the labour ministry for next Tuesday at 10 a.m.

In a release yesterday, the JTA said "all actions planned have been put on hold pending the outcome of Tuesday's meeting".
