Headlining the polls
Published: Thursday | September 3, 2009
It seems to me that for much of this week, when one reads the reporters' analysis of what pollster Bill Johnson has presented in his latest findings, then reads the quotes attributed to him and then look again at the headlines of the stories, The Gleaner doesn't seem to know 'A' from 'bull foot'.
Perhaps it is a case of not understanding what one is reading and, therefore, misinterpreting, or a case of trying hard to make a political point, but yesterday's headline, 'Golding can do better', is a good example that illustrates the point. The analysis as presented by Arthur Hall does not suggest that the headline of the article is the central point of the findings at all.
No overwhelming blame
Jamaicans are acknowledging hard times which many have accepted result from factors external to Jamaica. They want the Government to do more, but there is no overwhelming blame of the current administration.
