Permanent secretary Forbes quits

Marcia Forbes has quit her job as permanent secretary in the Ministry of Energy and Mining.

The Gleaner understands that Forbes tendered her resignation yesterday with immediate effect.

She was to be placed in the Office of the Prime Minister as part of the Cabinet's thrust to reshuffle top-level ministry officials. She was to act as director general of information and telecommunications.

Forbes served as permanent secretary for 11 months.
