Choices of editorial letters

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I feel compelled to write a letter to The Gleaner to chastise its editorial staff for allowing a column to be published on Thursday, August 13, titled 'Excluded from 'Out of many one people',' by the Rev Devon Dick. Who in your editorial department vets articles that are allowed to got to print?

The reverend's article was easily one of the worst pieces of 'thought put to paper' that I have read in years. The article was relatively brief and appears to be rather collections of ramblings without conclusions or proper development of each point raised, and it seems that every paragraph is just another flight of ideas without any flow or connection to the previous sentence or paragraph.

It was utterly ghastly. I know The Gleaner made some columnists redundant recently, but please get some better writers among the stock you have left feeding the minds of our people.

I am, etc.,
