We, the landholders of the given address, are suffering from the land act of 1977 under which the then Government said they were putting in amenities such as roads, water and light. We want someone in authority to come and see the work that is being done.
Tenants have stopped paying lease for the land and the owner has to be paying tax for people to live free - all because of government's action. Our parents did not wait for handout - this is how squatting has taken over and there is no one to help. If you write to any government office they don't answer you.
Out of control
The roads in the community have not been named, and it is only their beds the squatters don't have in the roads, not to mention the bend-down plaza that is already there. Even the fire truck cannot not find its way into the community because of vending taking place in the roads.
The police try very hard to help us when there is trouble but, again, because the streets have no names and there is no light, we are in deep trouble with no help. I have even sent an email to the prime minister, but have received no reply although he was there when this half-done work started.
Mr Editor, please help us, for it is over 30 years we have been going through this.
