Personal relevance

THE EDITOR, Sir:

IT IS AMAZING how Jamaica continues to produce outstanding stars like as Asafa Powell, Shelly-Ann Fraser and Melaine Walker.

Some people who would never be known, except for a little athletic exposure, suddenly became 'super administrators'.

Can someone explain the admistrative abilities of people like Donald Quarrie, Juliet Cuthbert and Bert Cameron for me? Can anyone from that group grasp the importance of psychological and other factors necessary in dealing with a host of personalities? I don't think so!

What will necessarily emerge, whenever there are problems, is major posturing - a situation founded on ignorance and a feeling for personal relevance.

I am, etc.,
