Janelle Pantry wears 'Queen of Africa' from the Serengeti collection. The two 'peaces' are a mixture of turquoise, cocoa beads, brass heishi beads and exotic stones.

Growing up she thought of her outfits as costumes. Going out meant a new opportunity to take on a new character with the way she looked.

That's why it's no surprise that Bianca Bartley's jewellery line is as unique and bold as they come. Even the name, Peace-is of Bianca, reflects her unique sense of style.

"I love literature and I always play around with words and I'm all about peace so I wanted something to reflect that," she said.

Lack of boundaries

The name also reflects the lack of boundaries she places on her work. 'Peace-is', as a play on the word 'pieces', gives her the leverage to transition into designing clothes, which she plans on doing in the future.

With a degree in psychology, Bartley is a writer, make-up artist and stylist.

"My things are like wearable art," she said of her jewellery which she has been designing for a year.

The custom-made artistry is a big part of the experience. When you order a 'peace' from her, she does a consultation and crafts something unique to you and makes suggestions about how it should be worn and with what outfits. Buzz and Skywritings magazines have already picked up on her talent.

"It's a complete package you get when you come to Peace-is of Bianca," she said.
