Tattoo Fabulous, a temporary tattoo endeavour founded in March by McRae Robinson, a legal secretary in Kingston, intends to give clients a 'fabulous feeling' akin to being a celebrity, as Robinson noted that many entertainers have tattoos. The result of having a stall at various festivals and functions is more than Robinson bargained for. She says her booth is constantly packed with interested prospects.

"There are always a lot of people coming and going during the events," she said. "I was hoping people would take to the idea, and they actually did."

Festivals and events, she said, are where her mobile temporary tattoo venture thrives most. The new business has also established a mailing service as well as a home-delivery service.

Robinson said she got the idea while travelling overseas where she saw the success of temporary tattoo businesses at festivals, hotels and various events. Her works of art range from $80 up to $300, depending on the size of the tattoo. Her most successful run of the business was during the Curry Festival in Savanna-la-Mar, Westmoreland. She said she will definitely vend at the festival again next year.

"There's been a slowdown for many businesses this year because of the recession," Robinson said. "But good quality, temporary tattoos will always be affordable and desired."
