Champion trainer Wayne DaCosta posted three winners at Caymanas Park yesterday, including the American seven-year-old gelding CHADMAN in the L.R. 'Bob' Mayall Memorial Trophy grade stakes feature over 1600 metres.

Running at odds of 2-1, CHADMAN, with champion jockey Omar Walker riding for Bitter Sweet, floored the odds on the 2-5 favourite RUM TALK under leading all-time jockey Winston Griffiths, beating the Philip Feanny-trained horse by 11/2 lengths in a small field of four. CHADMAN made virtually all. RUM TALK, running from the number one post position on the rails, chased him for the first half of the race before MEDICAL REPORT (4-1) slipped down into second forcing out RUM TALK to dispute last place with the lightly weighted PRIME MINISTER (7-1) as they left the half mile.

In the straight, CHADMAN responded to a typically strong ride from Walker to hold RUM TALK at bay on the wide outside, winning in decisive fashion.

CHADMAN, who won a number of grade one races last season, including the Digicel Irish Jamaican Stakes, Eileen Cliggott Trophy and None Such Sprint, was notching his first win since October of last year. This was in fact his 14th win from 47 career starts with total stakes of $6.6 million.

DaCosta also saddled 5-1 chance THE GUARDIAN, who ran on strongly to beat stable companion COMMANDER ZERO (2-5 fav) in the third race over 1200 metres and 3-5 favourite SERGEANT STONEHAN with Walker astride in the ninth race for maiden three-year-olds. With leading jockey Dane Nelson sitting out a one-day suspension, Walker, with two winners, seized the opportunity to join him in the lead on 58 wins.

Meanwhile, 11 entries were received for the season's final classic, the Jamaica St Leger, to be run over 2000 metres at Caymanas Park next Saturday. Among them were the first three home in the June 13 UBA Derby - HE'S REALLY OK, BRUCEON-THELOOSE and POSEIDON, as well as the 1000 Guineas and Oaks winner SAINT CECELIA.
