JAAA names 20 for World Youth Champs

Bailey-Cole and Whitehorn
The Jamaica Amateur Athletic Association (JAAA) released a 20-member squad to represent the country at the sixth IAAF World Youth Championships, set for Italy from July 8 to 12.
Carifta Games Under-20 100m bronze medallist, Kemar Bailey-Cole, heads the boys list, which includes just six athletes.
Adams Cummings, Wayne Hyman, A-Shawni Mitchell, Travis Smikle and Javere Bell complete the boys team.
14-member team
On the female side, Deandre Whitehorn, the Carifta Games Under-17 100m champion, and 2009 World Youth 400m age-group hurdles leader, Danielle Dowie, head the 14-member team.
Celia Walters, who won the sprint double at the trials last weekend and Carifta Games high jump Under-17 champion, Peta-Gaye Reid, are also in the team.
The girls' team is completed by Rochelle Farquharson, Kimberly Williamson, Janieve Russell, Sandrea Farquharson, Shericka Moulton, Celia Walters, Seidath Palmer, Ristananna Tracey, Samantha Elliott, Keena Davis and Chantal Duncan.
Danny Hawthorn has been named head coach for the team, while Dalton Evans, Milton Brown and Hamlin Pagon are the assistant coaches.
Patricia Parkins will travel as team manager, Leroy Cooke (assistant manager), Carol Long (media liaison) and Dr Paul Wright will be the team physician.
