Boys' Town's coach, Andrew Price, is somewhat pleased with his team's performance throughout the duration of the 2008/09 Digicel Premier League season.

"When I analyse the season, we achieved a couple goals that we set out," Price said following their final game against Waterhouse on Sunday at Drewsland Mini Stadium.

The hosts won 2-1.

Waterhouse secured their much-sought-after victory with goals from Jermaine Fletcher in the 12th minute and Damion Williams in the 44th. Oneil McDonald scored the lone goal for Boys' Town.

"We wanted to win some silverware. We did that by winning the Flow Champions Cup and we wanted to get some players into the national programme. We got Denzil Watson, Michael Campbell and George Vernal invited, so I would say that we achieved two of our goals," he said.

Challenging

However, Price believes his team could have been more competitive.

"It was a season of almost and could have been. If we were more decisive in a lot of our games, we could have been more challenging."

He said he hoped the team would use their mistakes as a learning experience and become stronger and tougher next season.

"In the final round, we had four games away from home. We did not win any. The one game we played at home we beat Portmore United 3-1, so I think we are going to have to work on our away record," Price observed.

Boys' Town ended the season on 57 points and in fourth place, while Waterhouse completed the top-six teams on 50.

Paul Young, coach of Water-house, said based on the team's experience this season, they will have to rebuild and come stronger next season.

"Coming into today's game, we were the last team in the top six," Young said after Sunday's match.

"We were the only team to not win a game in the top six, so this was a good way to finish off the season. Hopefully, we can build on this for next season," he added.
