Maia Chung-Smith

Maia Chung-Smith is a former journalist, who now dedicates her life to working with the Autism and Disabilities Foundation that she began a year ago.

Though journalism was her first love, working with those affected by autism and other disabilities is more fulfilling. The foundation began as a result of her son, Quinn Garren James Smith, who was born with autism nine years ago. Since the foundation began, Chung-Smith has raised over $3 million to assist persons living with the disease.

Her efforts have earned her a nomination in this year's First Global Vision Awards.

But how does she relax when she is not focused on work?

  • Q: What is the name of the last book you have read?

A: The Godfather by Mario Puzo and I loved it!

  • Whose music are you listening to now?

Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes and Tracy Chapman, shocking, I know, I love the thugs.

  • Where was the last interesting place you visited?

New Jersey - I had never been there until recently and I loved the calm, easy vibe.
