The National Council for Indian Culture in Jamaica will host its fifth annual roti festival on Sunday, March 1, on the grounds of Club India, 38 Lady Musgrave Road in St Andrew.

Wisynco Trading under their brands Gold Medal flour, Coca Cola, Wata, Bigga and Oceanspray, are lead sponsors and the event is branded, Coca Cola Roti Festival bringing together food at its best with one of the world's leading cola beverages.

The purpose of this festival is to showcase Indian cuisine to the rest of Jamaica. Dishes such as curried goat and curried chicken have become favourites in many Jamaican homes. Curried dishes including mango, potato, chick peas and more, will be accompanied by the different types of roti.

Three types offered

This year there will be a choice of roti per dish. Patrons will be offered three types, namely, dosti, dhal puri and aloo roti. The versatility of roti will be on display with side dishes to accompany this Indian staple.

Other sponsors include: GraceKennedy, Digicel, Nescafe, Young's Supermarket, Ranger Security, Home Choice and CB Chicken.

Local Indian talent will entertain as well as The Dragonnaires. Part proceeds from the festival will be donated to charity. There will be fun for the entire family.
