Jamaicans, start acting civilised
Published: Wednesday | February 25, 2009
I am a proud Jamaican living in the United States, but after reading an article in Essence magazine, titled 'Trouble in Paradise', I am truly ashamed.
This article outlined how members of the homosexual community are harassed, beaten and murdered, all because of their sexual persuasion. This is an outrage! When are some of us going to start acting civilly?
Even if these offenders believe it is a sin to be homosexual, leave these people alone! What is also pitiful is that law enforcement officers also help to ridicule them.
Jamaicans tend to be very arrogant and sanctimonious and it is high time we humble ourselves. God should be our only judge and jury.
I am, etc.,
