Caribbean Circuit Racing Championship - Jamaican racers seek glory
After Friday evening's mishap at the Bushy Park race track in Barbados, Jamaica's David Summerbell Jr is hoping to correct his mechanical problems in time for today's clash between Jamaica, Guyana and Barbados, in the second leg of the Caribbean Circuit Racing Championship.

Automakers report rise in July production

Japan's top three automakers said global production in July rose to records for that month, highlighting solid growth riding on their reputation for fuel-efficient models amid soaring gasolene prices.

Auto Blotters - New 2.7L four-cylinder Highlander

The 2009 all-new Highlander will be equipped with either a 3.5L V6 or a 3.3L hybrid powerplant. Toyota is expanding the Highlander's powertrain line-up for 2009 by adding a more fuel efficient 2.7L four-cylinder engine.

Ford retools plant for small cars

Ford Motor Co said on Wednesday that it will spend $75 million to retool part of its Michigan Truck factory to make car bodies, part of the automaker's plan to convert some truck factories to make smaller vehicles.
