In Thursday's trading session the following reflect the movement of the JSE Indices: The JSE Index declined by 829.60 points (0.74%) to close at 110,168.86 points.

The JSE All Jamaican Composite Index declined by 1,683.51 points (1.49%) to close at 110,720.11 points and the Jamaica Select Index declined by 61.65 points (1.98%) to close at 3,041.28 points.

Overall market activity resulted from trading in 22 stocks of which nine advanced, 10 declined and three traded firm.

Market volume amounted to 6,070,468 units valued at over $49.78 million. MAYBERRY INVESTMENTS was the volume leader with 2,222,581 units (36.61%) followed by JA BROILERS with 877,661 units (14.45%) and SAGICOR LIFE JAMAICA with 866,639 units (14.27%).

National Commercial Bank Jamaica (NCBJ) has advised that the sale of 4,800,000 NCBJ shares by AIC Barbados Limited on May 30, as previously stated is incorrect and the actual number of NCBJ shares sold was 4,872,081.

Montego Bay Ice Company Limited has advised that its annual general meeting will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2008, at the company's registered offices, 2 Creek Street, Montego Bay, commencing at 4 p.m.

Jamaica Public Service Company Limited has advised that its annual general meeting is scheduled for Thursday, June 12, at 6 Knutsford Boulevard at 11:30 a.m.

The company has also advised that the board of directors has declared its quarterly dividends payable on July 1, 2008 to preference shareholders on record as at June 13. The x-date is June 11. Thecompany's board of directors will be asked to consider the declaration and payment of dividends on preference shares of the company at its meeting scheduled for June 12, to be paid on October 1. The record date to be considered by the board is September 13.
