Jamaica win CEA showjumping title
published: Sunday | November 4, 2007

TRINIDAD AND Tobago, represented by Christina Rostant and Sandhya Mowl, won the final leg of the two-day Caribbean Equestrian Association (CEA) junior showjumping competition at the Kingston Polo Club, Caymanas Estates yesterday, but that could not prevent Jamaica from emerging overall champions.

Having won the three previous legs in Cayman, Bermuda and Bardados, Jamaica, again represented by 14-year-old Campion College student Justin Vaz and 13-year-old Wolmerian Jason Walter, started the final leg with a total of 15 points an managing only third yesterday, finished with 17 points - two clear of T&T in the overall standings. T&T picked up five points by virtue of yesterday's win, Barbados (Emily Kinch, Anne Meik-Mackie) was second with three points, Jamaica third with two and Bermuda fourth with one point.

The action continues this morning at the same venue with the team jumps starting at 10:00.
