WESTERN BUREAU:

He is unique, he is special. He is Cacoon's human town crier.

Yes, 33-year-old Bob Moore, popularly known as 'Badda Badda', is contracted by persons to make public announcements with his mouth. He needs no microphone because that, he is!

"My voice very loud, me have a mike voice," he said with a smile. "Mi use me mouth to do announcements; mostly for church, schools and dance events though. People always looking out for me."

Outlook team, after mistakenly driving to the neighbouring district of Blenheim in Hanover, found 'Badda Badda' at a family cookout a few Wednesdays ago, during a grave digging for an uncle.

Very accommodating

The son of Cacoon, Hanover, was found at the graveside enjoying a drink of white rum but was very accommodating to the interview.

"I discovered this voice from mi small going to Cacoon All-Age School. It very brilliant man," he shared. "I have been doing announcements for the past 15 years."

'Badda Badda' works as a full-time farmer, planting yam, coconut and banana, which he mostly sells in his home community. He also has a small grocery shop, which he operates from his home.

"Me like business. I like selling things, anything that have value," 'Badda Badda' added.

Noel Duhaney, an ice cream vendor of Middlesex district near Cacoon, says he has known the human microphone for over 30 years.

"Yes man, him voice loud. Him all sing songs too, him have a nice voice," Duhaney stated. "Him always making noise so you know when him come 'bout. Him all walk 'bout and tell we when dem a go lock off the water."

Making it big one day

As for 'Badda Badda', he believes that his voice will help him to make it big one day.

"A still praying that I will get something better than what I am doing now. I still have faith that something going to work out," he admitted. "Me get this voice natural from God."

The last of seven children for his mother, Olive Green, with whom he lives, 'Badda Badda' has not started his family yet.

"I love move around with people," 'Badda Badda' added. "A not only do my farming, I also cut yards as well."
