The Editor, Sir:

Our nation faces many critical issues that need to be addressed, but surely, close to the top of the list must be the protection of our country's future - our innocent children.

In our country, there are many things that are complicated. There are issues which demand serious debate and examination.

Today, with our society's moral foundation in decline, we must move quickly to get this strong message to the lawmakers of our country, as it pertains to granting early release to long-term imprisoned child molesters and abductors.

Raise our voices

We must continue to raise our voices until the political climate creates legislative changes that prohibit early release of child offenders and killers, regardless of good behaviour, or what other countries believe. It won't be long before one, and then another child offender will need to think twice before committing acts that land them in prison or on death row.

Parents, teachers, health-care professionals, government officials and concerned citizens must try everything in their power to reverse the shocking statistics of child molestation.
