LETTER OF THE DAY - Riverton dump fire taking health toll
THE EDITOR, Sir: FOR DAYS now the Riverton City dump has been burning. The smoke has become more than a nuisance and is now affecting the health of residents around the area, in Portmore, Plantation Heights, Queen and Forest hills.

We need daylight saving time
THE EDITOR, Sir: IF WE claim to be serious about energy conservation in this time of astronomical fuel prices, why have we not yet reverted to "daylight saving time" which costs nothing...

Police need customer service training
THE EDITOR, Sir: MY BROTHER was arrested sometime ago and was in the Mandeville lock-up for six weeks. Whenever I went to look for him, it was so sad and disturbing the manner in which the police treated us (visitors) law-abiding citizens.

Praying in vain
THE EDITOR, Sir: THE WORD 'hope' for me and many of my fellow Jamaicans in our country seems an illusion. We pay for water that they say is life, yet most times we are deprived of it.
