Letter of the day - Solomon and the 'rod of correction'
THE EDITOR, Sir: I AM an elderly person who is greatly distressed because of the rising crime rate in this our beautiful country, so I felt very pleased when I read the article by Ken Jones in the June 13 edition of The Sunday Gleaner.

A 'Kool' Father's Day
THE EDITOR, Sir: FATHER'S DAY is not as much publicised as Mother's Day and many dads complain about this.

One in a million
THE EDITOR, Sir: I WOULD like to take this opportunity to commend the efforts of a true Jamaican patriot. Michael Lee-Chin is one in a million.

Teaching methods
THE EDITOR, Sir: PERHAPS THE only good thing that can be said about the Minott report is that it has focused the nation's attention on education.

Wrong move
THE EDITOR, Sir: YOUR FRONT page caption of The Gleaner Saturday, June 12, 2004, "Deportee deal" is rather disturbing.
