Ja's Durrant first UN Ombudsman
The United Nations information office announced Friday that Secretary-General Kofi Annan has decided to appoint Ambassador Patricia Durrant of Jamaica as UN Ombudsman, an appointment that is made at the Assistant Secretary-General level.

Only silence now in Spaldings
The usual buzz of activities which normally highlight Saturday shopping in the rural town of Spaldings in Clarendon was not evident yesterday, one week following disturbances at the police station.


Chicken price stays - Levy
Robert Levy, chief executive officer of the Jamaica Broilers Group has confirmed that consumers will not have to pay more for chicken meat produced under the company's popular Best Dressed Chicken brand.
