Give good communities tax incentive

THE EDITOR: Sir,

I WAS wondering if the Government could develop an incentive programme for communities. Since they are having problems with crime and violence, roads, etc. why not set up a community committee in each parish with each committee being responsible for its communities.

If the community is crime-free and well kept then that community gets exempted from paying certain taxes.

In the long run I think that communities all over will want to be the best and will work together to achieve this and the Government would not have this aspect of governance to contend with. What do others think?

I am, etc.,
