Pirate wedding - Pirate wedding at Breezes Runaway Bay

The beautiful Caribbean Sea is the perfect backdrop for a 'Pirates of the Caribbean'-themed wedding, and that's just what Paula and Robert St Onge chose for their 10th anniversary celebrations.

During May, Breezes Resort and Golf Club at Runaway Bay, St Ann, is conducting more than 100 weddings and renewal of vows. The weddings abound with a number of interesting themes, each ceremony magically unfolding to depict the fantasies of the prospective brides.

One of the most outstanding weddings so far for the month, was been the renewal of vows between Robert and Paula St Onge of Kelowna, British Colombia, Canada.

The St Onges have pleasant memories of the property where they tied the knot 10 years ago.

Spectacular wedding

The St Onges were married in March 1999 and are still beaming 10 years later about their spectacular wedding at the garden gazebo. On May 12 they returned to the property to renew their vows, but this time with a Pirates of the Caribbean theme.

The couple wore pirate costumes, complete with eye patches and sounds of "aaargh, aaargh", usually made by the notorious bandits.

They fashioned their own costumes with bits of material from stores. Friends and family, who came to witness the vow-renewal ceremony, were also dressed as pirates.

Breezes Runaway Bay offers destination weddings for local and international couples.

In addition to being relatively hassle-free, destination weddings are becoming more popular because they are also more economically affordable.
