Images of chaos

The Editor, Sir:

While I agree that the proposed taxation by the Government would heap unimaginable hardship on an already fragile population, I must caution against any proposed or planned demonstration to force the withdrawal or alteration of the taxation package.

Ours is a country that has adopted a culture of road demonstration which lead to another bump in the road; roadblocks, and inevitably the burning of tyres, cars, and the images of chaos which will no doubt paralyse our country, our people and whatever glimmer of a future we may have.

I encourage restraint and dialogue at this time.

Demonstrations which will lead to roadblocks will only serve to block our ability to demonstrate our resolve as a people to employ responsible methods of problem-solving and reconciliation.
