Tracii McGregor, Buju Banton's manager, has said that the artiste is "holding firm" despite his current situation according to dimewars.com an entertainment website.

The website reported that McGregor, in an interview with CaribWorldNews regarding Buju Banton's drug charges, insisted that Banton, born Mark Anthony Myrie, was innocent. She also stated that the label would pursue the best legal team to prove his innocence and that she had been meeting with several top criminal attorneys to take over the case. According to McGregor, current attorney, Herbert Walker, III, was simply hired to represent Banton during his initial court appearance and will not be the trial attorney.

Banton, she said, was "holding firm" even though it was "a difficult situation". Always in a spirit of giving, "Banton", she said, "has also focused on helping other inmates, especially Jamaicans at the Miami federal prison, who have no legal representation."
