As the rain drizzled in the wee hours of Saturday morning at Caymanas Track stables, it signalled the end of what was an enjoyable staging of Osmosis Evolution.

At about 4:15 a.m., there were soft drops of rain on everyone. Some people left but others stayed and danced to songs like Serani's Skip To My Lou and Beenie Man's Eva Clean.

The police also made their presence felt and at this point the music had to be turned down. Nonetheless, the patrons continued to dance, doing older moves like Online and Crazy Hype.

Throughout the night, ZJ Rush and Jazzy T alternated at the turntables. Both played an abundance of alternative songs, which the patrons enjoyed. With the music thumping through the speakers, patrons literally felt the beat as Jazzy T played Black Eyed Peas' I Got A Feeling and Pitbull's I Know You Want Me.

This was about 1 a.m. when many persons were just entering the venue. And, the majority seemed to be wearing dark colours, especially the women. There were some men, however, who wore bright red, purple and blue pants.

Many of the patrons seemed to enjoy the food that was being provided by some of Kingston's best restaurants.

Hype crowd

Meanwhile, Jazzy T got the crowd hyped up to hip-hop songs like Shop Boyz' Party Like A Rockstar and Jay Z's Big Pimpin. He also remixed dancehall songs on hip-hop rhythms.

After much alternative and hip-hop songs, he finally started off the pure dancehall segment with Alaine's Give You What You Want, before Tony Matterhorn's Goodas Fi Dem and Buju Banton's Water Truck.

Later, ZJ Rush returned with a very conscious set that included songs like Tony Rebel's If Jah, G Whizz' Life and Good Girl Gone Bad by Tarrus Riley and Konshens.

But before playing Ding Dong's Holiday to the merriment of the patrons, there were some 'diss' songs from Vybz Kartel, Bounty Killer and Mavado.

Not too long after, Jazzy T returned with more alternative songs. Black Eyed Peas' Boom Boom Pow was certainly a hit. The gyrating and high energy dancing ceased briefly when he played Alicia Keys' Sleeping With A Broken Heart.

In no time, the patrons were back to their old ways, wining hard to Beenie Man's Gimme Likkle and Vybz Kartel's Like A Movie.
