A fabulous wedding, A union of Romance and Respect

Published: Sunday | December 13, 2009

It's official, they are man and wife. The new Mr and Mrs Ryan Reid exit the church where Reverend Father Patrick Cunningham officiated their wedding ceremony. Also participating in the ceremony were pianist Dennis Rushton, violinist Cecelia Laird and soloists Stephanie Hazle and Matthew McKenzie.

Following a light shower of rain, Rowanne Elizabeth Taylor, daughter of Philip and Sandi Taylor, was united in marriage to Ryan-Kwesi Raynardo Reid, son of Norman and Pauleen Reid. The theme for the wedding was 'Butterfly kisses' and the bride was escorted to meet her groom to the sound of the song of the same name, by Bob Carlisle. Witnessed by family and friends, the happy occasion took place at St Luke's Anglican Church, Cross Roads, St Andrew.

The white-carpeted aisle was festooned filled with yellow rose petals and the pews were decorated with yards of glittery sheer fabric and an assortment of yellow blooms. Huge yellow floral arrangements decorated the altar of the church. The bride carried a fabulous spray of cymbidium orchids and her bridesmaids bore cala lilies.

the gown

The bride's gown was a figure-hugging creation in guipure lace, satin and pearls by Annette Lyew. She wore diamonds and pearls set in platinum at her neck, ear lobes and wrist and these were the perfect complement to her wedding ring. Elegant Weddings was responsible for the absolutely breathtaking decor both at the church and Terra Nova All-Suite Hotel where the reception took place. The bridal party were outfitted by Beautiful Brides and Mr Tux and the groom wore a Carlton Brown tuxedo . Selena Wong's wedding cake still has everyone talking. The couple took a Caribbean cruise for its honeymoon.

Officiating minister Reverend Father Patrick Cunningham used the couple's first initials (R) to form the basis of his brief sermon. He stressed the importance of romance, respect and religion in every marriage and urged seasoned married couples present to support the newlyweds as well as recommit themselves to their own vows.

Among those present to share the happy occasion were Courtney and Pauline Campbell, Carolyn Dyche, Don and Ayesha Creary, Errold and Raymond Reid; Elsie and Rodrick Shirley, Rhona Wilson, Nova Hamilton, Verna Morgan, Johnnie and Esme Buck, Marlon Dinnal, Oral Powell, Leon Rattray, Beverly Benjamin, Beverly Jones, Norman and Valerie Marshall, Robert Brooks, Stuart Barnes, Wayne Hunter, Stephen and Stephanie Chung, Rev Horace Richards and wife Joyce.
