Parchment leads way

Batsmen were again in fine form on yesterday's second day of the first trial match to select Jamaica's team for next year's regional four-day cricket competition at Up Park Camp.

Opener Brenton Parchment, and middle-order batsman Shawn Findlay, scored 82 not out and 65, respectively as Bernard's XI, replying to 462 by Lambert's XI, reached 189 for three at the close.Parchment has so far hit 13 fours while Findlay slammed four sixes and five fours in his breezy knock.

Earlier Tamar Lambert, who ended Monday's first day unbeaten on 142, went on to add another 26 runs before he was dismissed for 168, inclusive of 22 fours and five sixes. All-rounder Andre Russell made 64.

The leading bowlers were leg-spinner Odean Brown, three for 81 and Findlay, 3-51. Play resumes today at 10 a.m.
