Resocialise entire society

Published: Friday | November 20, 2009

The Editor, Sir:

It is always refreshing to listen to Contractor General Greg Christie as the lone voice crying in the wilderness.

I have long contended that Jamaica is rotten to the core and our current crop of politicians don't seem to be doing anything to change our minds as it relates to the issue of corruption. To pull wool over the eyes of ordinary Jamaicans every day, the police are singled out. Don't get me wrong, I do believe there are corrupt elements there, but the police do not make up all of Jamaica. In every sector, we have corrupt persons and practices.

The whole country needs to be resocialised. It is time to look at the broader society as it relates to corruption. When Transparency International is rating the country, it is not rating the 10,000 members of the JCF. It is rating Jamaica.

I am, etc.,
