The Reef's signature cocktail - The Chocolate Reef, created by bartender Ryan Mittoo.

Marketing executive Tanya Lee describes The Reef, one of 45 eateries participating in the Gleaner-sponsored Restaurant Week, as an "exclusive seafood restaurant in a rustic environment which lends itself to lyming", a truly fitting description for this charming oasis in the heart of Liguanea.

This family-run business seeks to cater to the needs of all customers, offering a menu for kids which includes easy eats like fish fingers and fries to an indoor dining room for more formal eating.

Though an exclusively seafood restaurant, The Reef certainly doesn't lack variety or creativity in its dishes, serving up local favourites like fried or steamed fish, to more exotic fare like conch, mussels and Mai Mai dolphin.

speciality nights

The Reef is most noted for its speciality nights, which include an all-you-can-eat pasta night on Tuesdays, an all-you-can-eat crab night on Wednesdays and an all-you-can-eat seafood buffet on Friday nights which includes menu items such as seafood lasagne, deep-fried shrimp, brown-stewed conch and grilled fish fillet in cream sauce - all nights for reasonable rates.

Alongside its specials on food, The Reef also offers karaoke on Saturday nights, sure to up the fun factor during your dining experience. The Reef also offers a full-service bar with wines, spirits, local beers and cocktails such as apple Martinis and The Reef's speciality drink, The Chocolate Reef - bartender Ryan Mittoo's special blend of Baileys rum cream, Tia Maria, coffee liqueur, coconut rum, white rum, milk and Hershey's chocolate.
